Last month we were asked to sponsor a charity ride on behalf of Operation Care Package of Michigan. This was a ride from Detroit Motorcycle Parts Sales and Service in Centerline (in the location of the old Detroit Harley Davidson) to Canterbury Village. Dale, who is one of the owners of Detroit Motorcycle has been a friend of mine for over 20 years. When he called and said that a main sponsor had pulled out and the ride, after 9 years of giving back, was in jeopardy of being cancelled, I said "How much do you need and where do I send the check?"
Operation Care Package provides food, clothing, cards, sporting equipment and whatever else our soldiers overseas need to help them feel more "at home." I can't think of a better charity to support. I'm proud to say that I've been told that it was the single most successful event that Operation Care Package has ever put on. Nice going guys!
